Guided Walks and Tours

A trip to and around Wales deserves the very best of planning. I specialise in both guided walking tours with history, culture, food and drink and great walking, as well as bespoke tours to all parts of Wales with interesting itineraries, safe and comfortable transport and unique experiences, usually not available to visitors.

If you’d like to walk along stunning coastal paths, through magical woodlands and around historic towns and villages, and if you’d like good company, wonderful scenery, the opportunity to learn about the area’s history and culture and a chance to sample some Welsh produce, I can make your day or your visit a special one. I am so passionate about Wales and all it’s walking opportunities, including the unique Wales Coastal Path, and I offer so much more than walking from A to B. With me, you get personal guiding, interesting visits, tasting opportunities, informative talks, fresh air and some fabulous walks. Oh, and a lot of fun!

In addition, I offer a door to door, station to station driver guided experience to any part of Wales that you’d like to enjoy, plus a guided service around our beautiful country if you have more time. The Vale of Glamorgan is a fantastic destination for walking. Our series of 5 dog friendly Vale walks will help you discover the wonderful Vale of Glamorgan at it’s best, with coastal scenery, historic sites, cultural visits, pubs, cafes and fabulous photographic opportunities. All walks are £25 per person, payable on the day, with a minimum of 4 people per walk. No charge for dogs!

HERITAGE COAST WALK (OGMORE BY SEA)

8 miles (shorter route available)

4 hours

Moderate with some steep sections along the Wales coastal path and heritage coast.

Start and finish at Ogmore by sea community hall cafe.

COAST & LIGHTHOUSE WALK (MONKNASH)

4.5 hours

Mainly level footpaths with some short, steep climbs and cliff edge trails.
Start and finish at Plough & Harrow pub.

CELTIC CROSSES & COAST WALK (LLANTWIT MAJOR)

5.5 miles

3 hours

Coastal paths, country lanes and tracks, woodlands with some stiles and gates. Start and finish at Llantwit Major train station car park.

Moderate walking through fields and along paths, with some steeper sections and town pavements. Start and finish at The Bear Hotel, Cowbridge

On his walks, not only do you do a good hike, but you also learn so much about Wales on the way.
Not only with fascinating fact'n'figures about the area walking through, but also from 'special guests' that pop up in costume along the way, full of historic tales that make you go home and Google more. This walk also featured music - a harpist, and a traditional choir - and started with breakfast, which kept us fuelled for the hike. A traditional Welsh breakfast for a traditional national day, including cockles and laverbread. Scrummy!
As was the contents of the free goody bag we got, including coffee, a G&T, and Welsh cakes, all from local producers. Chris always celebrates Wales, its language, land, and local businesses, which is wonderful.
So I would heartily recommend going on any walk led by Chris. His personality also attracts wonderful participants, so you can come alone, in a couple, or a group and make new friends, which I have done. Plus they are safe. Chris knows the routes backwards, and makes sure no one is ever left behind, with plenty of stops to ensure the more leisurely walkers stay part of the group, without the fast walkers getting frustrated. Most importantly for me is that the walks are (well-behaved) doggy-friendly. And he always has a few tasty treats in his pockets for my dog, which means he loves the walks as much as I do.
