A big thank you to all who joined me on the May Vale walks this month. They were very successful and the Vale has never looked so good, especially in the wonderful that we enjoyed! There will be more walks in September but here’s a few photos from the last few weeks, mostly by photographer Gildas Griffiths.
Here is a review of the walks and the experiences from one of the regular walkers Sarah Puntan-Galea and her beautiful dog Digby!
I simply can’t recommend these walks more highly: Chris is a personable, fun, bilingual, informative, and a kind and safe guide – his organisation skills are second to none, and he ALWAYS replies to enquiries quickly. The walks are a good distance and stretch your legs without being too strenuous or a race – and there is always a backmarker. But they are not just walks, these are events, which visit incredible places, and feature something different on each one: From historical characters to male voice choirs. Plus, one of South Wales’s most popular historians, who knows so much about the area covered – and more! They are dog-friendly, and the photographer makes sure everyone (who wants to) gets photographed – especially the dogs!!! Chris seems to attract great participants too. It’s not compulsory, but most people stay for a drink, chat and even lunch after – I have met lots of lovely people, and made so many friends through his walks. And as someone who attends alone, it is very welcoming, and you will never walk alone. Above all, it is incredible value for money, and the day always starts with a scrummy breakfast (usually a Welsh delicacy). If you are not Welsh, you’ll learn lots about Wales, its history and culture on one of these walks – and if you are Welsh, you’ll learn things you never knew before! And leave loving Wales as much as Chris does. Diolch yn fawr iawn Chris. Digby Dog and I will most definitely be signing up for your next one!”
